Orchids, Calm, Quiet and Goats

We are always lost in translation here. But there was no need for translation at the park we visited last weekend.

The biggest florist in Okinawa, Bios Floral Park On The Hill was amazing. We took a peaceful boat ride and saw the native fruits and flowers growing naturally in the swampy waters. We walked through a day that was flirting with rain in a lush tropical Orchid fantasy land.

As we searched the ground of this park we came upon adult and baby goats, pigs and water buffalo. You could feed and take the animals for a walk! We found an open field where there were handmade kites for rent and stilts to try out your balance on. We enjoyed watching our daughter feeding the baby goats. We especially savored and enjoyed eating the soba noodle soup at the end of it all.

The experience brought peace to my family for the rest of the weekend and reminded us of how lucky we are to be in such a magical location of Asia. To see a tropical, vibrant flower of such beauty and perfection makes me think of the majesty and mystery of this life that we need only trust and how lucky I am to have my gorgeous flower of a daughter and amazing husband, Chad to be with us.
